Mortals, known more commonly as 'those that die' or the 'death-cursed', make up the majority of beings on Caredhel. How mortality is viewed is entirely dependent on culture, but among the Men of Laredhidan, Death is often seen as a curse or as a state unnatural to Mankind. Fear and hatred of Death is ancient; at least a few of the Elder Races sought to cheat Death using sorceries both known and unknown, and means both fathomable and unfathomable. Those that die have historically turned toward necromancy, demonology, and other sorcerous disciplines to escape the House of Death.
