There exists among the people of Laredhidan few empires so hated and feared as Kalduor; claiming to be the legitimate continuation of the Great Realm of Kalduor, the empire used Name Magic to enslave countless tribes, using the True Names of the tribesmen to transform them into obedient and willing slaves. Though it has a legacy of evil rightly condemned by Laredhians, it also continued and preserved the traditions of the Anchulaín and of the Elves. Much Elf Lore was preserved and copied by the Kalduorians, who swiftly adopted the civilization of their Anchulaín wives.

Perhaps the greatest legacy of the Kalduorians was preserving the tradition of Loremastery and the recording of the traditions, history, and stories of the Adoun and other peoples, providing modern Man a great insight into how his ancestors lived.

Founding

During the Great Migration, the ancestors of the Kalduorians - the Adoun - marched West as part of the second vanguard of Mankind. Three great Adoun kings led this migratory horde: Mírn the Blessed, Uroúd the Beautiful, and Adúrnín the Undying. Known collectively as the Three Heroes of the Adoun, they swore oaths of brotherhood and vowed to divide the lands they chose to settle in equally between themselves. The three heroes made war upon the Hegemony of Tírcían, and at the White Gate, known then as the Wall of Bones, Adúrnín slew the Hegemon-King, Tolcíran ithín Taocaisíth, who had led the Elves against the Empire of Worms during the Elven Conquest.

King Mírn claimed that land as his own, and his two blood-brothers agreed to march further West against the Great Realm of Laredhidan. Mírn, being bound by his oath and his honor, provided warriors to the other two kings and erected the Brother Stones as a border between his realm and the new one to be founded. King Adúrnín and King Uroúd found that although the Elves resisted them, the Anchulaín welcomed them and rose up to fight alongside them. This, the legends say, was because the Anchulaín had seen in Man the potential to revive their empire and restore their gods to power.

Kaludhan-udhanrai of the House of Dhamast-dohor, the son of the last of the Anchulaín Name-Kings, had upon the arrival of the Adoun offered Uroúd his assistance in overthrowing the Elves. After Madhintulan was taken and its garrison put to the sword, Kaludhan-udhanrai gave Uroúd the hand of his daughter in marriage...
